Name Description
Parkland Edmonton lies predominantly in the Central Parkland subregion which consists of groves of aspens broken by grassland openings. (Click here for details on the Parkland Ecoregion)

 

Boreal


Bordering the East side of Edmonton is the Dry Mixedwood subregion. In the Dry Mixedwood subregion the dominant vegetation is a mixture of coniferous and deciduous, including trembling aspen, balsam poplar, paper birch, white spruce and balsam fir. (Click here for details on the Boreal Ecoregion)
